Our Services
We provide consultations and evaluations for outpatients new to our practice, consultations for hospital inpatients (including those in the PICU and NICU), and ongoing care for all of these patients.
In our office we perform diagnostic pulmonary fuction testing, including spirometry pre- and post-bronchodilator spirometry and pulse oximetry. We routinely perform diagnostic flexible bronchoscopy, often with bronchoalveolar lavage on both an outpatient as well as an inpatient basis. A significant amount of our time is devoted to managing children on chronic home supplemental oxygen.
We provide expert care (including diagnosis, management and long-term follow-up) for children with the following (and many other) conditions:
- Asthma
- Chronic cough
- Wheezing
- Chronic lung disease
- BPD/ BronchoPulmonary Dysplasia (NICU graduates)
- Hypoxemia (need for chronic supplemental oxygen)
- Noisy breathing (including stridor)
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
- Periodic Breathing related to high altitude
- Apnea, including Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Central Apnea
- Central hypoventilation
- Vocal Cord Dysfunction
- Dyspnea (shortness of breath)
- Recurrent Croup
- Tracheostomy (with and without ventilator)
- Recurrent pneumonia (and respiratory tract infections)
- Congenital respiratory tract abnormalities including Laryngomalacia,
- Tracheomalacia, Tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF), Pectus Excavatum,
- Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia
- Chronic aspiration realted to GERD and/or swallow dysfunction
- Bronchiolitis caused by RSV or other viruses
- Bronchiectasis
- Children with Neurodevelopmental Abnormalities and Associated Chronic Respiratory Problems
We also routinely perform/provide the following services:
- Interpretation of hard copy pulse oximetry studies
- Detailed Asthma Education to patients and their families
- Influenza vaccines
- Administration of Synagis (anti-RSV medication)
- Testing for RSV and Influenza
